Cont. of landlord wont call before entry...?

i live in missouri. you say get a lawyer... but those are expensive. I an more concerned about the cracks in my ceiling and the cracks in the storage room basement. Do you think calling a building inspector to check that out is a safe bet. just to be sure? it kinda scares me to hear creaks and small pops at night to see cracks in ur ceiling line of a room.... or wall....
