Songs and products mentioned in books..?

If the author/publishing company did not get permission, yes, there would be a problem. In books that contain copyrighted items such as products, songs/lyrics, etc., the original holder of these are sourced on the "copyright page". Usually it tells us the company/creator and the year it debuted.
