What was the impact of the light bulb on society?
Don't forget that the first light bulb was patented in both Canada and the US in 1874 by Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans of Toronto. They sold this patent to Thomas Edison for $5000 in 1874 dollars. Edison improved the design and patented his light bulb in 1879.
