If the left gets its fairness doctrine and its ideas are still rejected, what would be the next step?

Let's ume the left gets its incorrectly-named "fairness" doctrine, that forces free airtime or whatever for leftist ideas that have lost the battle of ideas in the free marketplace. What if free people STILL reject those leftist ideas even though government has forced private companies to air them? What's next? Brown shirted "fairness" police patrolling private homes and forcing radio dials to play the leftist ideas? It's certainly naive to think the "fairness" doctrine will be the last act, intrusive government is constantly working to strip liberty away from citizens.
