I am interviewing my mom about her political views. Need ideas for questions to ask.?

For my AP American Government cl, we are asked to come up with 5 good questions to ask our parent. You know, not just 'Who did you vote for in the 2008 primary?' or 'Why are you a Republican?' Something more like 'Were there any events in your life that helped solidify your political affiliation?'. I already have 2 so I need 3 more. Any help appreciated. Thanks :)
