Americans, does it make any difference to you where a Hispanic is from?

I am embarred to say this, but I really don't know too much about the different hispanic cultures. I suppose I just sort of lump all of the hispanic people together, although I know that in reality they are all different and that they would likely be insulted by my categorization. Honestly I just don't really care. People are people and I think its a waste of time to separate everyone into categories just so I can relate to them.
